Add intrigue to your next party with this murder mystery game, set in a haunted castle.
The Barony of Shufflemoore Woods is being plagued by wolves – or perhaps only a single wolf. The creature or creatures have been responsible for all sorts of deviltry, including the disappearance of livestock and, most recently, of Mitchell and Susannah Miller’s youngest daughter. Now, several residents of the Barony have retreated to Shufflemoore Manor, seeking the protection of Baron Castaign. Several visitors have also appeared, including a trio of wandering Gypsies and a hunter who has offered up her services in tracking down and slaying the beasts that are terrorizing the Barony.
This party is divided into two primary segments. During the first portion of the evening the guests arrive at Shufflemoore Manor, just as a terrible storm begins building up outside. The players in the adventure include Baron Castaign and his family and servants, villagers and common folk from the surrounding Barony, and various travelers who are passing through. Though the Baron himself is a gloomy, somber man with no love for company, propriety and decorum dictate that he must provide accommodation for those in need. With the storm gathering outside, Baron Castaign reluctantly offers to feed everyone dinner and let them spend the night.
After dinner, the guests retire to their rooms to sleep. Shortly before midnight, they are awakened by a shriek of terror and find that the maid, Luella, has been killed in her bed, drained of all blood. Suspicions are immediately raised that one of the company is, in fact, a vampire. Now the players must use their wits and skills to find a way to escape from the castle before the monster in their midst kills them all.
Guests must work together to identify the murderer. A terrible evil stalks the solemn halls of Shufflemoore Manor, and only the most clever and lucky of Baron Castaign’s guests are likely to escape with their lives!
There are 12 primary suspects in this mystery, however only 8 are required to play the game. The host or hostess will play the role of the Narrator, a gamekeeper and guide who is there to run the game. Read the "How To Play" section for more information on how to play an expanded game with more than 12 guests.

Headline A fantastic time!
Nickname Kala
I hosted this party as my Halloween party this year. I transformed my entire house into a haunted mansion! With the low lighting and the help of a wolf-ish assistant, we created quite a few screams. The party went very well and everyone was eager to do another one soon!

Headline Death in the dark

My daughter put this party on for Halloween. Everyone raved about it and begged to be invited to any others we threw (and we will). We had flameless candles, sowhen the lights went out in the beginning, we left them off and used the candles (unfortunately, that means no pictures). This really added to the mood, especially with the vampires running around at the edge of the light. Great product!

Headline The party went well

People really got into it, dressed the part, played their parts. Unfortunately they weren’t very attached to their lives and were overcome by vampires…
The only complaint I had is that the set up for the dungeon was a little unclear. A rough sketch would have helped. We ended up putting the canal in front of the entrance to the catacombs and it should have been somewhere else. We managed to work around it though.

Headline Transformed my home into a castle. Truly memorable evening!

I have never planned a Murder Party before, but was up for the challenge! The instructions and ideas in your game were very helpful to a "newbie".
I cannot tell you how excited I was to plan this event. I went all out when I realized that the story line followed the layout of my home, all the way down to the wine cellar. My son, (Edgar the Groundskeeper) was able to help me with a small amount of the preparation. Conveniently, I have a bathroom in my basement just past the last tunnel. The corner shower was the perfect Iron Maiden complete with tortured prisoner and spikes.
My ENTIRE home was transformed into a Medieval Castle and my guests (my immediate family) became characters I did not know! As you can see from the picture, everyone got into the act.
I wish I had been able to take pictures of my home, however, the tunnels, etc. didn’t show well in photos.
I will gladly purchase another game down the road. It made for a truly memorable evening!

Headline Party went fantastic at rented Manor
Nickname Chantal
We just got back from our Stockland Manor weekend late last night! The party was absolutely fantastic!!
The Manor was absolutely the perfect setting for your story – it was set out over 3 stories so there were more than enough rooms to allocate to all the stages.
Following the victim’s death on the four poster bed I led the guests into another chamber so she could run downstairs and then play the role of the wolf (with full furry face mask and fur coat) outside the door which illicited a few screams when she leapt out.
The guests were all fantastic in character. I haven’t got many photos during the actual game because it was so dark but have plenty of great before and after ones.
Everyone declared it one of the best parties ever so thank you very much! If we get to rent the manor again I will definitely get another game from Playing With Murder!
